Assistant Controller

This is a very hands-on position that will initially require full emersion in the detailed, day-to-day accounting functions of the Company. This emersion will provide the successful candidate with a full understanding of the current processes, functions and capabilities of the various software programs as well as the existing staff in order to develop and implement changes that will facilitate and support the Company's growth and expansion.

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for assisting the Controller throughout the month end/year end close processes. Responsibilities will also include ensuring all company expenses are accounted for and in the proper periods, as well analysis of revenue and expenses to budget and trend. This role will also serve as the company's Fixed Asset and Cost Accountant ensuring proper accounting of all of the company's capital expenditures and shop inventory.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries
Prepare and analyze balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare reports detailing monthly expenses by cost center/department
Assist Controller in analyzing company expenses, including comparisons to forecasted results and trended results
Invoice other Sprint locations for intercompany charges
Accounting and oversight of all Fixed Assets and inventory, including maintaining monthly depreciation schedules and inventory valuation reports
Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures in accordance with the month end close schedule
Other Accounting related Ad-Hoc projects as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
Minimum 3 years related Accounting/Finance experience
Strong general ledger accounting skills - reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis
Advanced Excel skills (very "spreadsheet" oriented)
Good organization skills and a strong work ethic
Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment (i.e. - change management)
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with managers, office staff and field personnel

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary of $65k - 75K, commensurate with qualifications listed above

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
