Purpose/Introduction Responsible for directing global polyethylene marketing management for the assigned polyethylene segment(s). This position is one of three Polyethylene Marketing Managers who report to the Global Polymers Business Manager. The polyethylene market segments are currently divided into the following 3 groups:
(1) blow molding and pipe; (2) Injection molding, film, sheet, extrusion, coating, and geomembrane; and (3) Circular PE, rotomolding, and compounding. The marketing manager is responsible for all the products in their segment(s) and works closely as an interface with the manufacturing organizations that produce products for their segments. Works closely with Sales, the Global Polymers Team, and coordinates with the other PE Marketing Managers to maximize the overall profitability of the Global PE Business by balancing near-term business optimization with achieving longer-term business strategy. This position plays a key role in developing and supporting the execution of the global polyethylene business strategy. Responsible for analyzing and understanding assigned PE market segments and is a resource for the sales organizations; this includes interfacing with customers to understand their strategy and identifying opportunities for CPChem. This role is also a key interface with Manufacturing and Technology to ensure alignment and effective utilization of resources to achieve the global polyethylene business strategy. Functions as a primary business contact for production platforms most closely aligned with the assigned segments and participates in associated Plant commercial teams. This position requires strategic thinking and vision to recommend the best path forward with respect to markets, technology and strategy setting to optimize the profitability of the products in the markets that this position is responsible for in context of maximizing overall Global Polyethylene profitability. The position requires the individual to review and analyze markets globally and to assist in the direction of product flows from our global manufacturing sites to global value-added markets. Responsibilities Develop marketing strategies for the markets we serve, and platform strategies for associated reactor platforms, and incorporate into the Global Polymers Business Strategy. Assist in the development of the annual PE strategy and budget presentations. Act as the SME for assigned market segments; track and monitor key indicators and developments for product applications; seek and develop key opportunities for increased value generation Support Sales with market information, contracting efforts, and consultation for pricing decisions; interface with customers as needed to support sales and to gather market intelligence Facilitate efforts with R&T and Applications technology to align with strategic business needs and participate on teams to direct the allocation of resources; support efforts such as developing catalyst strategy or coordinating commercialization efforts for new resins required by the business Function as the business representative on Business and Manufacturing project teams (for capital and expense projects), leads the development of the business case as required Stay abreast of and lead sustainability developments and incorporate into Global Polymers Business Strategy Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business or related Technical Field Minimum of 8 years related industry experience Significant commercial experience and strong business acumen (experience with product management and profitability analysis is a significant plus) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze large and complex data sets and draw conclusions to drive business strategy Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across organizational boundaries at all levels A high capability for self-management and learning agility Excellent teamwork and communication skills; ability to effectively work with a global team and lead through influence Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications Masters of Business Administration considered a positive PE business knowledge and experience (broad knowledge of the Olefins and/or Polyolefins chain a plus) Experience with business and/or pricing strategy development and deployment Experience in and fluency in the sustainability area.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
